Avenged Sevenfold: Biography and Music
Formed in Huntington Beach, California, in 1999, Avenged Sevenfold developed from its metalcore beginnings into one of the prominent heavy metal bands of the 21st century. The lineup features vocalist M. Shadows, lead guitarist Synyster Gates, rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ, and drummer Brooks Wackerman. The band is known for its ambitious guitar work, powerful vocals, and theatrical live presentation.
Their 2005 breakthrough album, City of Evil, went platinum and established songs such as “Bat Country” and “Beast and the Harlot.” Later releases include Nightmare, Hail to the King, and The Stage. Their latest album in the supplied artist information, Life Is But a Dream..., was released in 2023 and marked an experimental turn. The band's 2023–2024 Life Is But a Dream Tour supported that era while drawing on its broader catalog.
The Tampa bill also features Good Charlotte. Avenged Sevenfold's history at this amphitheatre is not specified in the available event information, so no previous local appearances are assumed.
